Flying Monkey from Wicked Ornament Raffle Ticket
Handmade by Brian Britigan
$10.00
If the name Chistery means anything to you… congratulations, you are gay. As real ones know, it is neither Galinda nor Elphaba who open Wicked, but a squadron of flying monkeys descending from ropes (stage version) and breaking glass (film version). While the monkeys in the stage play bear a strong resemblance to Rachel Dratch’s SNL depiction of Angelina Jolie’s biological child with her brother James, the film’s version updates them, taking these creatures from feral-child-escaped-from-institution to regal-human-ancestors. This ornament memorializes this iconic update. Elake nahmen nahmen ah tum ah tum, indeed.
